Approach

  • 3 Rotor Sails (5m x 24m) were installed

  • Mobilisation of global supply chain and full stakeholder engagement, including management of the Class approval process
  • Rotor Sails were successfully installed, installation of equipment was achieved in less than a day per unit
  • All Rotor Sails are automated and controlled from the Bridge Control Unit (BCU)
  • Annual reduction in fuel consumption and emissions is around 10%
We and our investors are committed to shipping’s decarbonisation journey and believe wind propulsion is a key enabler in helping Tufton reach its 2050 net-zero goals. We are very proud to have been able to support this innovative application of decarbonisation technology on TR Lady.
