Approach
- 4 Rotor Sails (5m x 35m) were installed
- The Rotor Sails were installed on Anemoi’s bespoke folding deployment system, whereby the sails can be folded from the vertical to mitigate impact on air draught and cargo handling operations when in port.
- Mobilisation of global supply chain and full stakeholder engagement, including management of the Class approval process
- Rotor Sails were successfully installed; installation of equipment including commissioning took 22 days. Commissioning of Rotor Sails took 4 days, one day per Rotor Sail.
- All Rotor Sails are automated and controlled from the Bridge Control Unit (BCU)
- Annual reduction in fuel consumption and emissions is expected to be around 12%
